Summary:

Community Alliance has a Licensed Day Rehabilitation Specialist II (PLMHP/LMHP) position available in our Day Rehabilitation program. 

This position is works as a licensed professional and member of a collaborative team, responsible for the provision of direct and collateral services including group facilitation and individual teaching and coaching which promote skill development and personal recovery for persons with mental illness and co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder. Will work under the direction and supervision of the site supervisor and division manager.

Duties Include:

Duties for Licensed Day Rehabilitation Specialist II (PLMHP/LMHP) in the Day Rehabilitation program:

  • Provide quality, rehabilitative, recovery-focused and person-centered service to program participants in accordance with program philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Assist in and utilize range of skills necessary to orient and engage program participants, including an explanation of rights and responsibilities within the program.
  • Assess, identify, and assist client in managing symptoms of mental illness and co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders, including clinical and psychosocial interventions and supports within scope of licensure and expertise and as outlined in the individualized, recovery-focused plan of the person served.
  • Utilize motivational conversation strategies and techniques throughout the assessment, individual program planning, and treatment and rehabilitation process.
  • Actively facilitate client self-determination in establishing individualized goals and objectives and the achievement of specific outcomes.
  • Actively assist and promote client development and utilization of the Safety/Crisis Plan and wellness self-management goals.
  • Actively engage and communicate with persons served throughout the program day.
  • Monitor participant attendance and participation; provide outreach service for those individuals who are inactive within program.
  • Facilitate program activities and training in a manner which promotes maximum participation, learning, and self-development of the individual consumer.
  • Research, plan, and develop curriculums in areas relevant to the skills, rehabilitation, and recovery-focused goals of persons served.
  • Facilitate group discussions and learning based on the curriculums developed.
  • Monitor individual and group behavior; employ appropriate intervention strategies and positive reinforcers related to consumer behavior.
  • Teach and cross-train other team members within scope of licensure and expertise.


Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications for Day Rehabilitation Specialist II in the Day Rehabilitation program:

  • Master’s degree required in social work, rehabilitation, counseling or other accredited academic discipline qualifying for state licensure.
  • Licensure in the State of Nebraska required as (a) Mental health professional (LMHP); provisional licensure (PLMHP) acceptable if actively working and making sustained progress toward achieving full licensure, or (b) Registered nurse (RN).  
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in mental health philosophy, service, and behavior intervention/management practices, rehabilitation and recovery principles on direct service level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of characteristics and needs of persons with a serious mental illness, including persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and successfully as a member of an inter-professional team.
